Course Description:
25 hours Arizona POST Continuing Training Credit with Certificate
This class will provide attendees with inspections/audit techniques that have been successfully used to reduce law enforcement agency liability, crime statistics, operational costs, and significantly improve compliance. This class is the first in a series of three classes towards a new Law Enforcement Inspections Certificate offered by ILEAA in 2012.
LEIA-101 Course objectives:
Participants will develop a basic understanding of;
* The role and history of inspections / audits in law enforcement
* Various audit guidelines / frameworks
* Current practices in law enforcement inspections / audits
* Steps of the audit process
* How to write an audit plan, program, and report
* Audit vs. non-audit reports
* How to format reports
* Risk assessment model
* Basic statistical sampling methods
Sessions will include CD’s containing reports, audit plans and programs. All participants must bring a laptop with ac power cord and windows PowerPoint and Word programs. This is a highly interactive class with a written examination at the conclusion with quizzes throughout the course to prepare for the exam.
